WixFest
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Wixfest is an annual event the Wix studio hosts for the local design community. It’s an evening of inspiration, mingling, creativity and design talks. When launched, one of its objectives was to get people to know us and discover and recruit new talent to the studio. As the years went by and Wix and the studio grew, it became a sought-after event with no available spots within hours of opening registration.
Since 2015 the event has grown immensely, hosting hundreds of attendees and introducing international speakers.
For both Wixfest 2015 and Wixfest 2017 I co-produced and created content for both design assets as well as content for the event itself, as well as guiding the studio speakers in their presentation and storytelling.
2015
This was the first time we hosted an international guest speaker - Tobias Van-Schneider. After seeing his talk in a European conference we were inspired to try and have him on board. We contacted him and he happily agreed and was on his way to Tel-Aviv.
Having such a big name on our hands meant we needed a bigger space than our own offices, so for the first time we hired a venue that would accommodate more people.
Speaking on behalf of the studio was Iris, a designer from the templates team who talked about what it's like to design for strangers - designing templates for millions of Wix users.
The creative part of the evening included a hot vinyl press workshop where the visitors could print their own designs on t-shirts, bags and more.

2016
This time we went even bigger - the event was held at the Tel-Aviv Museum of Art. Having an international speaker was expected by now, so we flew in Mr. Bingo - again after seeing his talk in Barcelona and wanting to share the experience with the local crowd.
Our studio representative was Orly, my manager. We worked closely on her talk, which was about the importance of speaking up as a designer, expressing your thoughts and ideas and generally coming out of your shell in front of the computer.
We recreated the huge success of the previous event with the hot vinyl press workshop as people loved it so much.
You can read more in my article about it here.
